When Magic Happens | Executive Women’s Speaker Intensive

One by one, 6 women arrive in the dusky pink of sunset. All unknown to one another, they sip champagne, laughing a little nervously as they ponder what is to come. By the time they sit down for dinner, warmed by a roaring fire and treated to a beautiful meal, the women are laughing like old friends.

I love the magic that happens when a bunch of women get together, bound by shared stories of work, family and fears. It’s being prepared to be vulnerable that allows such easy bonding.

Everyone is here for the same reason.

The beds are ridiculously fat and comfy and 6 clear heads wake to a crisp morning, mist rising over the mountains and a sense of peace, despite the inner churning.

Slowly they make their way through the early morning, frost crunching under foot into the light and warmth of a large room, a welcoming smile and a camera.

Their first day of executive women’s speaker retreat has begun.

For the next 3 days these women will laugh and cry and learn and challenge themselves and each other. The retreat is my favourite thing to do. Whilst it’s chock full of information and practical work, you can’t put a price on the energy and support from the rest of the group.

It’s an intense time that will change the way you present forever. If you can’t articulate your vision to your team, no one can follow you.

If you can’t articulate your vision to the Board, it won’t get passed.

If you can’t articulate your argument for staying at home, you’ll end up at the in-laws for Christmas.
